Sample Course
This course is designed to guide students through the essential knowledge, traditions, and expectations found within the World Tang Soo Do Association Gup Manual. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the meaning and history of Tang Soo Do, the purpose of training, the Five Codes, Seven Tenets, and the attitude requirements that shape strong martial artists both inside and outside the dojang. Throughout the course, students will study the symbolism, customs, and standards of the art, including the WTSDA insignia, the meaning of the Korean flag, Do Bohk code, belt philosophy, and rules of conduct in the dojang. The course also introduces rank progression, testing procedures, promotion requirements, and essential terminology to help students build a solid foundation for long-term success in Tang Soo Do. By the end of this course, students will not only better understand the material required for advancement, but also develop a stronger appreciation for the values, discipline, respect, and traditional spirit of Tang Soo Do.
